The Robot Scarecrow

This is our robot scarecrow "Rusty",
thought I would do a post about scarecrows for
The boys and I created him for Peters birthday earlier this year.
(If you look closely, you will see he is a boy....)

We had a trip to the scrap metal yard
to collect some bits and pieces for him.
If you have little boys -
I would highly recomend a trip to a scrap metal yard
They loved it and could have spent hours there!

While driving back from Melbourne last weekend
I went through a little tiny town, Buangor
on the Western Highway.
They had a scarecrow competition,
the comp was over,
but there seemed to be a musical theme.
I stopped and had a look.
This is "Hey Diddle Diddle"
This one is "Elvis"
This is an "Indiginous" scarecrow
And this was the clear winner.
"The Pied Piper"
He was extremely tall and a lot of work had gone into him.
Look at the detail, I would love to make one of these......
One Day.

Jacqueline :)

  1. Your robot scarecrow is just the best, LOVE it!

  2. The Pied Piper is fantastic but your robot is still the best so original!

  3. That robot is a classic! My boys will want to make one now!

  4. I love your metal scarecrow, it looks fantastic and such a creative idea. I think I need to make another to stop the crows in my vege patch. They are alot of fun to make!:)

  5. oh the pied piper thats excellent, you SHOULD make one for your lovely patch, sorry Rusty you are pretty cute too, I've never seen 'boy bits' on a scarecrow!

  6. I love Rusty the boy scarecrow, I bet Peter loved him too. That is such a great idea for a birthday prezzie. It was great hanging out with you and your crew last weekend. Great to put a face to the name too. I hope you've had a great week. X

  7. love your scarecrow!!
we love the scrap metal yard aswell as the demolition yard!

  8. I love those scarcrows, I actually drive past them quite a bit. The competition is run by a local winery in Ararat and has a different theme every year. Well worth the look if you find yourself in the area in the future!
